There is no living or artificial tree that gets more opinions than the Tree that is the center of our Christmas Holidays. People will spend an average of an hour or more to find that perfect tree. Once it is picked out, then the rest of the fun begins.
Let’s take a step or two back though, and really find out about our choices.
Many people will say that to cut down a real tree for the sake of a few weeks of holidays, is a tragedy. Others, will spend hours outdoors at local Christmas tree farms seeking that perfect tree without any guilt feelings at all.
Truth be told, Christmas tree farms are very careful about the cutting down of their trees. These trees are “farmed”, and like any other crop, they are tended with their final purpose in mind. For all the trees that are cut down, the farmer will plant at least two times that many so that he has a constant and sustainable farm.
So if you choose a real tree, over an artificial one, you don’t have to worry about making a mistake or a “green blunder”.
Which ever you choose, it will be a personal choice based on how much you like one or the other.
Let’s take a step into the artificial tree world. Your choices are less limited, as you will find, small trees, big trees, fat ones and skinny ones! You will find trees that have 3 sides to them so that you can put it tight into a corner or smaller ones that will fit nicely on a tabletop!
Choices are made with your family in mind. If you have little children or lots of animals in the house, you may decide to go one way or another. If it’s just the two of you and Christmas is a grown-up affair, you may decide to go for a totally different look and get a pink Christmas tree.
Let it be known that there is no WRONG CHOICE! It’s simply, your choice and that is all that matters. Christmas trees are part of the holiday trimmings and whether it is big or small, tall or skinny, green, white or pink, it will be beautiful when you have put your heart into making it special. Decorating the tree is probably the part that most families enjoy the most. Again, choices are to be made and your choices will be perfect I’m sure. Some like to do the traditional method of decorating by bringing out all the “treasures” that have been carefully stored for years and years. As each special decoration comes out of it’s protective nest, memories are rekindled and surely lots of smiles and laughter will fill the air.
Not everyone likes this way of decorating though. So it is perfectly acceptable to decorate your tree completely different from what your tree looked like last year. One year it’s all blue and white, the next year red and gold, and the year after that it’s all silver and purple or any other color that strikes your fancy.
More decisions can be made as far as decorations go, you can stick to all one theme like “Mickey Mouse” and Friends for little children or “Sesame Street Characters”. For an older group, maybe stars or angels, musical instruments, or a picture tree for Grandma and Grandpa. You can even go crazy with ornaments for your favorite football, hockey and baseball teams. The choices are endless and everything changes with the different placements and extras!
I love Christmas and all the choices that you can make, because the end result is always something that leaves you in total awe. If a spirit of love fills the air during the creation of this year’s tree, then the final touches will make that tree the perfect centerpiece for another year of priceless memories.

Nice work, love the different trees and ornaments. Some folks change ornaments every year, but we bring out ornaments we’ve treasured for years. Thanks Olivia!
