When it comes to learning neat things, nothing beats doing it yourself and finding out how something happens. To that end, I love the kind of books that make young minds think and experiment a little bit.
Once you try it, you will find other ways to make interesting things happen in your spare time.
Paper inventions is one of those books that just makes you want to try the next experiment and then the next one and so on until you have done every one of the experiments, in the book.
With holidays coming up soon, there will be time to put some of these experiments to work. All the inventions in this book use Paper as the main material required and who doesn’t have a lot of paper available?
It always amazes me, and I’m sure it will boogle the minds of the youngsters in your house, how paper can be used in so many different ways. It also is so much fun to make new paper from recycled paper already.
Save the used wrappings and go to town making new paper, less waste and lots of fun all at the same time.
From building simple machines, to watching what happens when we either fold paper, or twist paper or build with paper, I know that you will learn something new.
This book will help to keep your children making and doing things with their hands. Their minds will be getting a work out too! The kids will be working their minds, without even realizing that they are learning something new.
This book will help you to share some interesting facts about paper that maybe you didn’t even know.
Well you know, now! And so do your children.
More to Come in this Series of Books for Young Minds.
What a great gift idea for a child or even someone like me. Wish I’d had it for my own children. I know they would have loved it.
Being a (now retired) homeschooling mom, I absolutely love books like this one. But what parent wouldn’t? The timing on this book about what can be done with paper is perfect with all that Christmas gift wrap to look forward to. Great book recommendation, Grammie!
I’m with you Susan, while I never made it to being a teacher, I think in some ways I always was one anyway. I would find things for my kids to do with almost nothing. In these days of being frugal, or using our resources wisely, I love working with all that paper that will be around. Especially after all the fun of opening the presents…..Thanks for your comments.
