It’s Hockey Night in Canada! This calls for anyone who has a favorite team, to don the correct apparel while watching the game. It seems that many fans seem to think that wearing the colors of the team will bring about a winning game. That may or may not be true, but for fans, it is a great way to show their support.

I’m always amazed when watching the game on TV, and seeing the cameras pan across the fans, just how many people are wearing their favorite teams’ colors. Talk about making a statement (fashion statement or otherwise), this will certainly have no one doubting where your support is.
There are hockey jerseys, hoodies, t-shirts, sweatshirts and even babies one piece sleepers all in your favorite team colors. And those colors are bold and beautiful. But don’t let your fan favorites stop there, you can also get socks, gloves, scarves, mittens, and so much more with hockey logos from all your teams or the team closest to your home town.
Hockey is a sport that has a huge following all over the world. It started as a Canadian game, but in the last 100 years, has become a game that is loved all over the world. Thanks to the Olympics and Team Canada, Team USA, Team Russia and a host of other countries, hockey has to be one of the most played sports around the world.
Do you want to meet someone in a country far away? Just wear a Hockey Jersey! It doesn’t matter which team, which city or which country the team is from, you will have strangers coming up to you wanting to talk hockey! My son wore his Toronto Maple Leafs jersey to Italy and in one of the piazzas while he was enjoying his coffee, there were at least a dozen people that stopped and said hello, all because of his choice to wear his hockey jersey!
How much fun is that, to go half way around the world and enjoy the company of people who share a real passion for the game of hockey!
I would make a bet, that a Hockey Jersey or Hoodie, with someone’s favorite team logo, wrapped up as a gift, would be something that will be enjoyed for a long time. For that matter, a die hard fan of a certain team, would love any of the “extras” that show the world who they will be cheering for the next time that team is on the ice.

Hockey is the only game I can think of where you can get a work out on the couch while watching. There will be so many times when that puck just misses it’s mark and you jump up and down in either joy or frustration depending on the team you are rooting for! It is a participation sport whether you are on the ice or on the couch. You can not watch Hockey Night in Canada and not become emotionally engaged in whatever is going on at ice level. That’s what makes Hockey so special and why so many people love to show their “colors”!
Hockey Nights bring out friendly rivalries and lots of fun when the teams are on the ice. Even the spectators get into the action, while they are still spectators, they have a connection with the players on the ice. It’s an emotional connection that can raise the blood pressure, make you jump and scream, hold your head in dismay, or raise your arms in triumph, just as if it was you playing the game.
Hockey is a game, but not one that is taken lightly! The rivalries, the plays, the goals, all of them are what makes the game SPECIAL.
